Now when he had ended all his sayings in the audience
of the people, he entered into Capernaum.
And a certain centurion’s servant, who was dear unto
him, was sick, and ready to die.
And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders
of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and
heal his servant.
And when they came to Jesus, they besought him
instantly, saying, that he was worthy for whom he
should do this:
For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a
synagogue.
Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not
far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him,
saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not
worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:
Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come
unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be
healed.

For I also am a man set under authority, having under
me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and
to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do
this, and he doeth it.
When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and
turned him about, and said unto the people that followed
him, I say unto you, I HAVE NOT FOUND SO GREAT
FAITH, NO, NOT IN ISRAEL.
And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the
servant whole that had been sick.
Luke 7:1-10

1. This centurion was worthy of a miracle. Tonight you
deserve a miracle!
And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly,
saying, that HE WAS WORTHY for whom he should
do this: For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a
synagogue.
Luke 7:4-5

2. The centurion realized that for healing to take place
Jesus did not have to go to his servant, to see him or
even lay hands on him to be healed.
Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far
from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying
unto him, LORD, TROUBLE NOT THYSELF: for I am
not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:
Luke 7:6

3. The centurion knew that Jesus could stand in one
place and speak a word and his servant would be
healed even though he was far away.
Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto
thee: but SAY IN A WORD, and my servant shall be
healed.
Luke 7:7

4. Today, wherever you are, even if you are far away,
the power of God will come to you! If Jesus says to
demons, ‘Go’ they must go!
For I also am a man set under authority, having under me
soldiers, and I SAY UNTO ONE, GO, and he goeth; and
to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do
this, and he doeth it.
Luke 7:8

5. There is no concept of distance in the spirit. A
command spoken from miles away can correct a
situation powerfully. In the spirit realm, distance
does not reduce the amount of power available.
And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the
servant whole that had been sick.
Luke 7:10

6. The miracle healing of the centurion’s servant
demonstrates the love of God, the compassion of Jesus
Christ, the greatness of Jesus Christ and the power of
the Holy Spirit.
… For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he
might destroy the works of the devil.
1 John 3:8
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten
Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish,
but have everlasting life.
John 3:16

7. Jesus was impressed with the great faith of the
centurion.
When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and
turned him about, and said unto the people that followed
him, I say unto you, I HAVE NOT FOUND SO GREAT
FAITH, NO, NOT IN ISRAEL.
Luke 7:9

8. You must have faith in Jesus Christ in order to be
saved. Without faith it is impossible to please God.
We are saved by faith! Believe in your heart today,
confess with your mouth and you shall be saved.
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,
and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him
from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and
with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Romans 10:9-10
