READ: Psalm 16:5-11
Thou wilt shew me the path of life: IN THY PRESENCE IS FULNESS OF JOY; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. – Psalm 16:11
The presence of the Lord gives rise to joy. Inexplicable joy comes into the hearts of those who experience the presence of God. Today, people are taking anti-depressants when all they need is the presence of God. You will have joy, peace and happiness when you enjoy the presence of God. The atmosphere of depression, discouragement, disillusionment, discontentment are not possible in the presence of God. In the presence of God, there is joy!
But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee. For thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield. Psalm 5:11-12
When you are in the midst of His temple, you think of God’s loving kindness and goodness. You have good thoughts in the presence of God. The king shall joy in thy strength, O Lord; and in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice! Psalm 21:1
Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. Psalm 51:11-12
It is the mighty presence of God that causes you to experience thoughts of God’s loving kindness. When you are away from the presence of God, you can be overwhelmed with evil thoughts. When you are away from the presence of God, you may even think that God is angry with you when, in fact, He is in love with you. God has good thoughts towards you but it is His presence that allows His goodness to fill your heart.
