READ: 1 Peter 5:1-11

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world” – 1 Peter 5:8-9

There is no commission or calling that goes without opposition. If God calls you, you will be opposed by the devil. Satan will fight you, because that is all he is there for. Every great calling goes with great opposition. For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries. 1 Corinthians 16:9

When Moses was called to set the Israelites free, he was met with great opposition from Pharaoh. Pharaoh is a type of satan who will not let God’s people go. Pharaoh represents the devil who hates the idea of people serving God. All male Israelite children were slaughtered in an attempt to eliminate Moses from this world.

When Jesus was born into this world to save mankind he met with Herod who ordered the slaughter of all children in an attempt to eliminate the Saviour. The great call and commission of Jesus as the Saviour of this world was met with the highest kind of resistance.

Your calling will equally be met with fierce resistance. If you insist on working for God, you will be resisted, frustrated, accused, harassed and opposed by an invisible enemy all through your life and ministry. If you do not pray, and if you are not spiritual, you will not last in this fierce invisible war. Demons are real. Evil creatures are real. It is time to find out exactly what you are dealing with and crush it. The power of God is necessary to crush the adversary. The enemy understands the language of power.

According as HIS DIVINE POWER HATH GIVEN UNTO US all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: 2 Peter 1:3
