READ: Isaiah 40:28-31

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. – Isaiah 40:31

The goal of a church service is to worship God and to hear from Him. We must wait on the Lord. It is those who wait on the Lord who renew their strength. It is not those who rush in and out of church who renew their strength. But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31

Today, many modern churches have shortened their services so that they can give their members a quick nice experience in the church. In the name of convenience, many churches have backslidden! Today, backslidden Christian congregations are dictating to the pastors how long a church service should be. Why should a backslidden Christian tell me how long I should preach? Why should those who do not love God dictate how quickly a church service must be brought to a close?

The Sunday service must be managed beautifully so that everyone who comes there has a great spiritual experience. Church must be run so well that people do not want to go home. It is those who hang around who get affected by the presence of God. Those who tarry long at the wine are those who are affected by the wine. Those who have a quick sip of alcoholic wine during the Holy Communion are not affected by the wine. Those who tarry long at the wine are those who get drunk and overwhelmed by alcohol.

Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes? They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine. Proverbs 23:29-30
