READ: Mark 3:31-35
“For whoever does the will of God, he is My brother and sister and mother.” – Mark 3:35, NASB
Anyone who does the will of God becomes close to the Lord. I once spoke to a brother who was worried that he would not see me because I was sending him to a far away country.
I said to him, “I have noticed that people who go on the mission field are closer to me than those who stay back home.” I often wondered why Mark 3:35, NASBI became closer to people who were far away. The answer was simple. They were doing what I had asked them to do. You always become closer to somebody who is doing what you want. Jesus said so in Mark 3:35.
By following the Lord, you also save yourself from many evils that those who are not following His will encounter. Following the Lord into the ministry has forced me to make several good decisions in my personal life.
“I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me” (John 5:30).
Jesus said He made good judgment and decisions because He always did the will of the Father. The blessing of being in the perfect will of God is that you make good judgments and decisions.
“I can do nothing on my own. I judge as God tells me. Therefore, my judgment is just, because I carry out the will of the one who sent me, not my own will” (John 5:30, NLT)
