READ: Galatians 1:11-17
“…For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ.” – Galatians 1:12 (NASB)
Paul is the best example of a minister who had no overseer. He did not need to be supervised. No one told him where to go or what to say. Your calling may be such that you do not need an overseer. Learn to work hard when you have no overseer.
When you have no overseer, you need maturity in hearing the voice of the Holy Spirit. You need accuracy in hearing the voice of the Holy Spirit. You need to be able to judge yourself since there is no one around to judge you.
Nobody will tell you are wrong. No one will tell you when to pray, study or visit anyone. God will have to tell you directly. When you are not supervised, no one will speak to you about the changes you have to make in your ministry or the decisions you have to take.
No one will tell you when you are going astray or when you are moving into error. You have to judge yourself. And your judgment had better be right. If you have not been called into this kind of unsupervised position do not venture into it because it will destroy you. Many ministers have become independent and self-governing when they should have lived and ministered under the supervision of a true apostle like Paul.
