READ: 1 Chronicles 29:1-5
“Now I have prepared with all my might for the house of my God the gold for things to be made of gold, and the silver for things of silver, and the brass for things of brass, the iron for things of iron, and wood for things of wood; ONYX STONES, AND STONES TO BE SET, …” – 1 Chronicles 29:2
If you do not build the Tabernacle with onyx stones, you will not experience God’s presence in the highest way.
Onyx stones speak of something hard, something unyielding, something valuable and something outstanding. Indeed, when you are serving the Lord, you must be hard and unyielding in your determination to follow Him. You must be hard and determined to fulfil the call of God, no matter what and no matter who!
The hardness of onyx stones speaks of those who will never change their minds about loving Him. You may change your mind about other things but do not change your mind about God. When such unusual onyx stones are part of the congregation, the presence of God is beautiful.
The key characteristics of onyx stones are that they are set and unmoveable stones. Onyx stones speak of people that are set in your heart and in your life. There are people that God gives you for your ministry. They are set in your heart. They will never leave you. They are part of your life. They are set onyx stones. The presence of such people around you creates an aura of peace, stability and faithfulness. This aura is conducive to the presence of God.
The presence of faithful people is important to experience God’s presence. The presence of wicked, disloyal and treacherous people brings about the presence of devils rather than the presence of God.
