Pray every day for long hours. Learn how to pray for a long time! It takes time to learn how to pray for long hours. The disciples saw Jesus praying for long hours and they wanted to learn how to do the same. And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, TEACH US TO PRAY, as John also taught his disciples. Luke 11:1
Pray every day without pretending that you are spiritual. Avoid hypocrisy and pretense in prayer. There is no need to pretend that you are prayerful. It is better to admit that you are not prayerful so that you can change. And when thou prayest, THOU SHALT NOT BE AS THE HYPOCRITES are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, they have their reward. Matthew 6:5
Pray every day in a private place. Private and personal prayer times are more important than group prayers. Develop yourself in private solitary prayer. Most of the prayers Jesus prayed were in private. A man of prayer is a man who can spend hours alone with God. But thou, WHEN THOU PRAYEST, ENTER INTO THY CLOSET, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. Matthew 6:6
