READ: 2 Corinthians 5:1-8
“For we know that if our EARTHLY HOUSE of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.” – 2 Corinthians 5:1
When many Christians wake up in the morning, they spend a long time bathing, brushing their teeth and getting ready.
Many ladies spend a long time getting ready to go out. After that they may have a good breakfast or lunch before moving out. Then these born-again Christians walk out of the door without even saying a five-minute prayer.
This is because they are not aware that they are more than a body. It is only because they are not conscious that they are spirits living in a body that they spend all their time on the body only. When a person becomes aware of his spirit and soul, he spends time to build up and develop the spirit.
I once passed by an unmarked grave. I saw three men throwing dead bodies into the mass grave. I went up to the car and asked, “What are you doing?” They were hospital officials who had been sent to bury unclaimed bodies.
Many governments are not aware that a human being is made up of more than just a body and a mind. They stress education and physical fitness but they leave out the real person. The Bible describes the body as a house. The mind and the body are just mortal containers of the human spirit. Man is a spiritual being first of all.
