READ: John 5:1-20
“Jesus gave them this answer: “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; HE CAN DO ONLY WHAT HE SEES HIS FATHER DOING, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.” – John 5:19 (NIV)
It is a mystery why Jesus heals some and leaves others. Do not be discouraged when a few people are healed out of a multitude. Jesus explained why he healed only one person when he said, “My Father works and I work. I only do what I see my Father do.” Jesus only ministered to people who were being touched by the Father.
An angel from the Lord was involved in the healing of the sick people by the pool of Bethesda. Today, angels are involved in the ministration of the power of God and the ministry of healing. Accept the ministry of angels and you will be healed.
Jesus is able to heal problems that have been there for a long time. The impotent man did not have anyone to help him. Jesus is the One who will help you when no one is available to help you financially or socially.
Jesus ministered to him by telling him what to do. You receive the power of God when you receive instructions on what to do. “Rise, take up your bed and walk” was a clear instruction from the Lord. May you be healed when you follow the word of the Lord as it comes to you.
The legalistic Pharisees were concerned with the technicalities and legalities of the man carrying his bed on a Sabbath day, rather than the powerful result of the man being healed after thirty-eight years. The miracle healing of the impotent man demonstrates the love of God, the compassion of Jesus Christ, the greatness of Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit.
