“And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.” – Revelation 21:24
The third key for dealing with kings is the key of respect and honour. Proud, stubborn and rude people cannot conceal these traits for long. Soon, the prideful attitude will appear through the covers and an insolent remark will pop out, revealing the serpent beneath.
Kings are lonely people and they long for real friends and good company. But they will rarely give up their honour.
In the multitude of people is the king’s honour: but in the want of people is the destruction of the prince. Proverbs 14:28
It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter. The heaven for height, and the earth for depth, and the heart of kings is unsearchable. Proverbs 25:2-3

When an important person detects presumption, pride or a hidden despising attitude, he will get rid of you. Daniel could have spoken rudely to the king because he was doomed. But he spoke respectfully and gave the king his due honour.
