READ: Isaiah 61:1-3
“Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.“ – Proverbs 12:25
The spirit of heaviness operates in those who leave in rebellion. There is such a thing as the spirit of heaviness. The spirit of heaviness is the spirit of depression. When people are depressed they are enveloped in deep and negative thoughts. Their mood is depressed and they have thoughts that tend towards hopelessness. I have known several people who failed to share the dark thoughts and questions in their hearts. These dark and negative thoughts eventually led them to leave me even though I loved them dearly.
Without asking the necessary questions or communicating properly, they resigned and left what was valuable to them. Sometimes these depressed people do not even bother to resign.
People with a melancholic temperament tend to be subject to this demon. Depression is a powerful spirit and can lead people to commit suicide. Equally, when people have a spirit of depression, they can commit spiritual and ministry suicide. In one stroke, people who are depressed and filled with negative thoughts can take decisions that destroy their ministry.
I am sure you can see the similarities between physical suicide, spiritual suicide and ministerial suicide.
