“But MY COVENANT WILL I ESTABLISH WITH ISAAC, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year.” – Genesis 17:21
God told Abraham that He was going to do great things with Isaac. God told Abraham that Isaac was special. He told Abraham that even though He would bless his other children, Isaac was His chosen one.
Abraham adjusted and adapted to God’s decision. Abraham adjusted his Will. Instead of being “fair” and giving equal portions to all his children, he made adjustments according to the promise he had received from God. He did not favour his daughters as some do in their Wills today. He did not favour his firstborn child as some people do. He did not favour his youngest child as some do today. He gave everything to Isaac but gave gifts to all his other children. Abraham gave everything he had to his second-born son. Isaac was the special child according to the word of God. Since Isaac was the chosen one, he gave all that he had to Isaac. He never lived to see how special Isaac would be but he adjusted his Will and shared his property accordingly.
When God speaks, He expects you to adjust your life and prepare for it to happen. Keep adjusting yourself to your beliefs. Adjust and adapt yourself to the word that God has spoken to you.
Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry. Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul. Hebrews 10:35-39
