READ: John 3:18-21
“The good man is perished out of the earth: and there is none upright among men…” – Micah 7:2
The human race has forsaken the living God and therefore God has given human beings up to become dead and darkened in their spirits, so that they may follow their own desires and perverted feelings (Romans 1:21, 24).
As you read this passage of Scripture further, you will discover that the sinful human race is filled with every conceivable evil. Consider the long list of evil characteristics (Romans 1:29-31).
The unsaved spirit is desperately wicked and this condition of man’s heart is manifest all around us.
Why are human beings so wicked and evil at heart? Why is it that when the opportunity presents itself, we see incredible acts of savagery? These acts of barbarism are manifestations of a depraved and reprobate human race. Why is the world filled with homosexuals? Why do millions of people commit fornication and adultery on a daily basis? Why does stealing, killing and injustice abound everywhere? The world has over five billion greedy, corrupt, degenerate and selfish people.
God has given up the human race to its perverted way of life. It is this unsaved and degenerate people that Jesus came to the earth to save. This is why Jesus said a man has to be born again because the first time round, we were conceived in evil and born in sin.
Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. Psalm 51:5
