READ: Exodus 3:1, 7:1, 11:3
“For THE PASTORS ARE BECOME BRUTISH, AND HAVE NOT SOUGHT THE LORD: therefore they shall not prosper, and all their flocks shall be scattered.” – Jeremiah 10:21
Pastors and shepherds who do not seek the Lord are dry, unspiritual and not anointed. That is what it means to be brutish. Without prayer, you become a brutish minister. People who lack the grace and the oil cannot build a large church. You are brutish when you have to use a lot of natural strength. Because there is no oil you have to use brute force.
Seeking the Lord like Moses did is what advances you in ministry. “…IT IS THE LORD THAT ADVANCED MOSES and Aaron, and that brought your fathers up out of the land of Egypt” (1 Samuel 12:6).
Pastors who do not seek the Lord do not move forward in the ministry. Many men of God do not wait on God. It was when Moses turned aside to the burning bush that his life changed. Turning aside from your normal activities to seek the Lord is what you need to do to build a mega church. Seeking the Lord is what advances you in the ministry. Moses was advanced from Exodus 3:1 (where he was at the backside of the desert) to Exodus 7:1 (where he was like a god to Pharaoh) to Exodus 11: 3 (where he was very great).
“Now Moses… LED THE FLOCK TO THE BACKSIDE OF THE DESERT, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb” (Exodus 3:1).
“And the Lord said unto Moses, See, I HAVE MADE THEE A GOD TO PHARAOH: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet” (Exodus 7:1).
“…MOREOVER THE MAN MOSES WAS VERY GREAT… in the sight of Pharaoh’s servants, and in the sight of the people” (Exodus 11:3).
Moses advanced from the backside of the desert into world prominence by seeking God at the burning bush.
