READ: Acts 16:1-15

Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.” – Colossians 2:7

Becoming established in Christ was very important to the apostles. They always wanted those whom they had led to Christ to be established in God. Paul worked with Timothy as they went through the cities, ensuring that the churches were strengthened and established in the faith.

“And so were the churches established in the faith, and increased in number daily” (Acts 16:5).

Again, Paul was sending Timothy and other ministers to help establish the believers at Thessalonica.

“Wherefore when we could no longer forbear, we thought it good to be left at Athens alone; And sent Timotheus, our brother, and minister of God, and our fellowlabourer in the gospel of Christ, TO ESTABLISH YOU, and to comfort you concerning your faith” (1 Thessalonians 3:1-2).

“Therefore, brethren, we were comforted over you in all our affliction and distress by your faith: For now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord” (1 Thessalonians 3:7-8).

Peter wanted to stir up Christians until they were established.

“Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth. Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance” (2 Peter 1:12-13).

“You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, take care that you are not carried away with the error of lawless people and lose your own stability. But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ…” (2 Peter 3:17-18, ESV).
