READ: John 14:16-20

God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early” – Psalms 46:5

The Holy Spirit in us is what we call the Holy Spirit baptism. We say this because when Jesus promised that we would be baptized with the Holy Spirit, He said that the Holy Spirit was already with us but would then be in us.

And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; even THE SPIRIT of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. John 14:16-17

The Holy Spirit in us causes us to speak in tongues and to become witnesses of Jesus Christ. Where the influence of the Holy Spirit in us is not strong, people do not speak in tongues and do not evangelize.

In the New Testament, Jesus promised a richer relationship with the Holy Spirit. That was the Holy Spirit in us. He also promised that more people would have the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit with us is what we call the presence of God. God with us! That God would be with us wherever we go and in whatever we do is what we call the presence of God.

This is the oldest relationship that the Holy Spirit has had with human beings. All through the Old Testament, it was the presence of the Holy Spirit that gave victory to the Israelites.

THE LORD THY GOD IN THE MIDST OF THEE IS MIGHTY; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing. Zephaniah 3:17
