READ: Genesis 28:10-22
“And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go…then shall the LORD be my God:” – Genesis 28:20,21
God is a covenant keeping God. There is little understood revelation on how to move the hand of God, with what I call the key of covenant making.
Jacob covenanted with the Lord and invoked a great blessing on his life. Another example of someone who covenanted with the Lord was Jephthah (Judges 11:30-31). Hannah also made a covenant to give her child to the Lord (1 Samuel 1:11).
There is no need for anyone to make a covenant before you give your child for the service of the Lord. However, initiating a covenant with the Lord can provoke Him to bless you supernaturally.
Hannah provoked God to open her womb and to release her children to her. She promised Him the first child even if it was the only one. Hannah made a great sacrifice to the Lord. You may not know what it involves for a lady to offer her only child to the Lord. Hannah brought her only child to the church when he was a little boy . How her heart must have yearned for her little child. She longed to play with him and hold him in her arms. Nevertheless, she gave it all up for the Lord.
Dear friend, God is moved by the sacrifice you make. Perhaps if you are to sacrifice some more, you will see greater fruitfulness in your life. It may be that your lack of sacrifice is the cause of your ministry remaining small.
