READ: Proverbs 23:29-30
“And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.” – Luke 6:12
Wine changes those who tarry long at it. We are also affected as we stay longer and longer in God’s presence. The longer you tarry at the wine, the more you experience stronger effects of the wine. When you tarry long at the wine, you begin to babble uncontrollably and act strangely.
Learn to stay longer in His presence. The longer you stay in His presence, the more you will experience the effect of God’s presence.
Develop the art of waiting on God all alone.
Jesus went into the mountain to pray. After this prayer time He chose His disciples. There are times you must pray with others but there are times you must wait on the Lord alone. If you cannot spend long times praying on your own there is something wrong with you.
Remember that a minister is an ambassador of the Lord. You are a representative of Jesus Christ who is supposed to tell others about God. If you have never spent time with Him, what will you know and what will you share?
The Apostle John described his ministry as sharing and preaching what he had seen, known, handled and touched.“That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; … That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.” (1 John 1:1-3).
