READ: Revelation 11:1-10
“And he was driven from the sons of men; and his heart was made like the beasts, … till he knew that THE MOST HIGH GOD RULED IN THE KINGDOM OF MEN, and that he appointeth over it whomsoever he will.” – Daniel 5:21
The Word of God teaches us that God rules in the affairs of men. You must believe that He is ruling and determining events that are happening in your life. Mysteriously, God has a hand in whatever seems to be a defeat in your life. Modern Christians do not understand how God can have a hand in their apparent defeat.
Understanding the things that are determined will give you a great sense of peace as you serve God. Understanding that God is a God of predestination is important so that you do not become anxious. There are stresses, persecutions, difficulties and even defeats that God has determined for you to go through. For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Jeremiah 29:11
You will not and you cannot be overcome until it is over. Being defeated may be the mysterious will of God for you. When you finish your work, you may meet things that have mysteriously been given the power to overcome and defeat you. You may be perplexed because you have been so successful in everything you have done in the past. When you encounter certain defeats, you must seek the Lord to know what is happening. It may be time to turn to Him that “smiteth” you. For the people TURNETH NOT UNTO HIM THAT SMITETH THEM, neither do they seek the Lord of hosts. Isaiah 9:13
Do not worry about the end. The end only comes when you have finished your testimony. It is God’s will for you to finish your calling and run your race. It is only when you have no more usefulness on this earth that the end will come.
