READ: John 8:33-47
“Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.” – John 8:44
Lying and deception are activities of devils. Whenever you meet a liar you encounter great frustrations. A liar is usually a thief and is taking something away from you. People who tell halftruths and people who mislead are all sent by satan to frustrate you and destroy you. Throughout your life and ministry you will encounter such people. They are all agents of the devil, sent to destroy you.
Every minister of the gospel must watch out for something or someone trying to deceive him. Satan is always trying to misdirect you, mislead you, distract you and misinform you. He is always trying to hide something from you and make you walk in darkness, ignorance and deception. This is the constant and unchanging work of evil spirits. This is why you must constantly pray for wisdom, understanding, knowledge, counsel, light and revelation.
And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. Revelation 12:9
Daniel was seen as someone who had been delivered from the darkness of deception. He was described as someone with light, understanding and wisdom (Daniel 5:12).
Because of the light, understanding and wisdom that he had, he was chosen and appointed by the king. He was called for because he had broken through the darkness and received light and revelation from God. Those who are more powerful, are those who overcome the darkness in the world and have received light.
