And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground
of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:
And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I
do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?
And he said, this will I do: I will pull down my barns,
and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits
and my goods.
And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods
laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and
be merry.
BUT GOD SAID UNTO HIM, THOU FOOL, this
night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose
shall those things be, which thou hast provided? So is
he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich
toward God.
Luke 12:16-21
1. Are you wise or are you a fool? Will you say to
your soul: “You have made it in life!” “Relax and
enjoy yourself!” What do you say to yourself? Are
they words of pride, words of over-confidence or
words of self-exaltation?
And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods
laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be
merry.
Luke 12:19
2. Are you wise or are you a fool? Will you say to your
soul: “You will never be demoted or humiliated.”
The pride of thine heart hath deceived thee, thou that
dwellest in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation is high;
that saith in his heart, WHO SHALL BRING ME DOWN
TO THE GROUND?
Obadiah 1:3
3. Are you wise or are you a fool? Will you say to your
soul, “You will never be judged. You will escape.”
And as IT IS APPOINTED unto men once to die, but after
this the judgment.
Hebrews 9:27
4. Are you wise or are you a fool? Will you end up in
hell? The rich man that Jesus spoke about in the story
of “Lazarus and the rich man”, the rich man went
to hell because he was not wise and he did not know
God.
…the rich man also died, and was buried; And IN HELL
HE LIFT UP HIS EYES, being in torments, and seeth
Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
Luke 16:22-23
5. Are you wise or are you a fool? You must say to
yourself, “I know I can die at any time. I may have
to stand before the judgment throne of God at any
time.”
. . . there is but a step between me and death.
1 Samuel 20:3
6. Are you wise or are you a fool? Will you receive the
Blood of Jesus today? Will you be washed by the
Blood or will you be foolish enough to ignore the
Blood of Jesus?
7. Are you wise or are you a fool? Be wise and say to
yourself, “Today I will put my trust in Jesus Christ
and accept Him as my Saviour.”
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,
and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him
from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart
man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth
confession is made unto salvation.
Romans 10:9-10
