“For shame hath devoured the labour of our fathers from our youth…“ – Jeremiah 3:24

When you can stop the things that waste away your money , you will become rich. In the Bible, the things that waste your money are called devourers. Learn the correlation between the devourer and the creation of real wealth.

People are more prosperous when they live in places with fewer devourers. Unfortunately, places with fewer devourers, such as Africa and other poorer developing countries, are often unattractive to live in but those who have had the boldness to live in these places usually enjoy a much higher quality of life.

God’s promise to tithers in Malachi 3:10-11 is to rebuke the devourer or the waster. God did not promise to increase the income of tithers. The creation of wealth is not dependent on how much you earn but on how much gets wasted. Wasters are often deceived about how wealth is created and therefore destroy wealth by their lifestyles.

People with high salaries often do not have much money to spend as they pay out a lot more. Well-known and “established devourers” include things like the rent, the mortgage, the car bills, the water bills, the heating bills, the electricity bills, the gas bills, the property rates, poll tax, income tax, gift tax, waste management bills, staff salaries, health bills, insurance bills, shopping bills, groceries bills, parking bills, traffic over-speeding fines, holidays, new cars, etc. The devourer takes away everything until there is nothing left. Those who can bring a halt to the wastage tend to become rich.
