READ: 1 John 3:14-18

And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness. Then shall the offering of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasant unto the Lord, as in the days of old, and as in former years. ” – Malachi 3:3-4

It is important to abound in your labour of giving. Many Christians do not abound in the grace of giving. They simply do not have the grace to give generously and repeatedly. Many people abound in the grace of showing off ! Many people abound in the grace of caring for themselves but not so many people abound in the grace of giving.

How do you abound in the grace of giving? You will abound in the grace of giving by learning how to give according to biblical standards.

Labour to be a giver who is also righteous and spiritual. You can give an offering to God in righteousness. There are many who are givers but are not spiritual. Many givers are thieves and therefore still have curses working robustly in their lives. Labour to be a person who is a giver and who is also spiritual. There are many givers who are not spiritual. Labour to give in righteousness.

Labour also to give out of your love for God. You cannot say you love God without giving. Love is perceived through giving. Love is the basis for giving. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

Proper giving is the type that is done out of love. Unfortunately, many people do not give out of love. Some people give to make a show. Some people give because they have disposable cash. Why do you give? Labour to become someone who is driven by love for God.
