“He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me” – Matthew 10:40
Honour Jesus and it will give life to your relationship with Him. Honouring Jesus is very important. Jesus is very concerned about how you treat Him. If you honour Jesus, you will be blessed greatly. How do you honour Jesus Christ? The Bible teaches us how we can honour Jesus Christ.
a. If you honour a man who is sent by Jesus, you are honouring Jesus. If you despise a man sent by Jesus, you are despising Jesus who sent him. He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me. Luke 10:16
b. If you honour Christians, you are honouring Jesus. Whatever you do to the least of the brethren you are doing it to Jesus Himself.
And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, INASMUCH AS YE HAVE DONE IT UNTO ONE OF THE LEAST OF THESE MY BRETHREN, YE HAVE DONE IT UNTO ME. Matthew 25:40
Saul was shocked to find out this stunning reality on the road to Damascus. Whatever honour you give to the least of the brethren, you are giving it to Jesus. Whatever despisement, persecution or dishonour you give to the least of His brethren, you are giving it to Jesus. When Saul was persecuting the church, Jesus took it personally and reacted against Saul. He said, “I am Jesus whom you are persecuting.” Be careful how you treat the brethren. Honour Jesus by honouring the brethren!
c. If you honour Jews, you are honouring Jesus. It is important to honour the nation of Israel. As we honour Jews, we are honouring the brethren of Jesus.
